Why Founded
The African Institute of Technology‘s story started in 1998 when I asked myself how would today’s analogue tertiary education system cope with the 21st century’s scientific and technology-intensive requirements. With this in mind, AIT was founded to provide the next-generation tertiary education for the world’s most gifted students as future leaders and innovators, while leading the digital world in research and development.

The AIT Corporation is the governing authority of the Institute with a board of trustees responsible for its Bylaws as well as for the appointment and dismissal of the heads of the Institute’s administration.
Who gets admitted
Because AIT is only for men and women with extraordinary gifts of mind, they’re only admitted if they’re coming with big ideas, which AIT education is all about. Even being a genius is not enough for one to be admitted to any of our schools.
All prospective students must be interviewed individually, with proof that they’re coming to the Institute simply to change the world. Yes, that is what makes AIT the world’s only place where such minds are gathered.
